Portable Shabu ExpressCalling all of you who crave for a Japanese Shabu-shabu because another new restaurant has just opened in PIK!! Been actually opened for around 3 months already, Portable is offering a pretty decent yet affordable all you can eat shabu-shabu among it's competitor: IDR 125K ++/ person for premium beef and 95K++/person for low fat beef. These are for the super express package which you can only order the beef up to 45 minutes (which I think you have more than enough time) and can still enjoy your meal AFTER the times up. But if you think 45 minutes is too rush for you, they also offer 90 minutes time (express package) to order your beef with IDR 225K++/ person for the premium beef and 180K++/ person for the low fat beef.

For those who don't eat beef, you can choose their other meats package like pork loin and fish. 85K++ for each meat/ person for the 45 minutes time and 160K++ for each meat/ person for the 90 minutes time. But if you are a true carnivore just like me, choose the premium beef as you could order any meat including the low fat beef, pork loin and the fish :)).Portable Shabu Express

They have 5 soup options for you to choose: Shabu Udon Konbu, Traditional Sukiyaki, Hot&Spicy, Soto Sulung Soup, and Garlic Butter. But because there were only 3 soups available when I came, I chose the Garlic Butter Soup as I found it to be more savoury than the other two. I don't really eat spicy so Hot&Spicy is definitely not for me and Shabu Udon Konbu is too sweet for my tastebud. You can ask the waitress for the soup tester before choosing by the way.
Portable Shabu ExpressEvery package comes with the complimentary access to free flow drink, a selection of vegetables, noodles, soup, rice and dessert. One thing that I wish they had was a free flow ice cream, but that's not a really big deal considering the price they offer.

I love the premium beef more than the low fat beef. I found it to be more tender. The pork loin was also good and the fish was fresh. 8/10 for the Shabu-shabu meat and the garlic butter soup.

They also offer an ala carte for rice bowl ranging from 38K-48K++ and pasta ranging from 45K-75K++. You can also have an all you can drink beer for IDR 125K/ person for 45 minutes and 225K++/ person for 90 minutes.

Afterall it was a great deal dining as I came there last weekend with my friends when they were having a buy 1 get 1 promo by posting your meal on Instagram and they are currently having a buy 3 get 4 promo. Keep following their instagram for the latest update and I wish they would be having this kind of promo for quite a while :)) *fingercrossed. But even without any promo, I find Portable to be pretty affordable and I would love to be back for more.
